Website: www.museudeldisseny.catThe Studio of Young Designers Association in Hungary(FISE) has organized with the General Consulate of Hungary and the Institut de Cultura de l’Ajuntament de Barcelona the exhibition New Courses: Hungarian Design Today. Forms from Hungary. The exhibition features Hungarian contemporary design with the work of of 40 designers,with examples from different fields: industrial, graphic, furniture, ceramic, fashion and jewellery. The objective is to present the most up-to-date view of current design in Hungary and take a look at several success stories in the design sector and creative industries in Hungary. The initiative by FISE, is chaired by Róbert Mascher, Doctor Liberalium Artium, and designer Daniella Koos as curator.
The exhibition begins with an inaugural day on Thursday April 24th at 8:30 p.m. at the Disseny Hub Barcelona and will have two parts. The first part will give a general view of the world of Hungarian design with the presentation of two papers: one about the Design Award of the National Council on Design and its winners , and the other about Design Week Budapest which is celebrated each Fall. Later, Gábor Ébli, associate professor at the University of Art Moholy-Nagy, will present a conference about Innovation and Social Responsibility in Hungarian Design and the Modern Collection at the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest, and design initiatives in Barcelona that are of Hungarian origin.
The exhibition runs until May 11th at the Disseny Hub Barcelona (Vestíbul Àvila) from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (and Mondays from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).
This event has been made possible due to the collaboration between theInstitut de Cultura, the General Consulate of Hungary, the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, the Foment de les Arts i del Disseny (FAD, Barcelona), the Barcelona Centre de Disseny (BCD), the National Ministry of Economy (Hungary), the Fons Nacional de Cultura (Hungary) and the National Institute of Intellectual Property Hungary.
