Groundbreaking ideas, mind-blowing experiments and extraordinary forms of collaboration – that’s
what it’s all about during DDW. With the boundless creativity of hundreds of renowned designers
and young talents, each year the leading event offers a unique look into the future of design.
For nine consecutive days, the city of Eindhoven will be dominated by design.
Concept and experiment are of paramount importance during the event in which almost all design
disciplines are represented.
This year, the event is again expected to attract around two hundred thousand visitors.
Day trippers, but also peers, members of the press and other design professionals from around
the world and far beyond the Dutch borders.
In this way, DDW brings together diverse target groups, offering many opportunities to inspire, inform
and meet audiences in a target-oriented manner. Therefore, not only designers and design bureaus,
but also producers in the design industry, knowledge institutes and cultural institutions are keen to present
themselves during the week.
Most participants organise their event(s) themselves or in cooperation with like-minded people.
DDW invites special (international) guests and offers a variety of events and guided tours.
The organisation also facilitates production and technology and provides special locations for events
in the industrial heritage of Strijp-S and Strijp T.
In addition, the organisation will (pro) actively attend to all communication and publicity activities.
Each year, a special national and international campaign will be launched. And with the support of media
partners such as Volkskrant, FRAME, Items, Eigen Huis & Interieur, and Bright, the week generates
a great deal of (inter) national media coverage in newspapers, magazines, journals and the like.
You can register for participation in DDW 2012 from May 1 till July 1.
