La Fabbrica del Vapore ospita oggi e domani dalle 10 alle 19, negli spazi concessi dall'Assessorato alla Cultura, una due giorni di eventi organizzati da Mima - Milano Makers per festeggiare la donazione al Comune di Milano delle opere di Duilio Forte e del collettivo Materia Prima realizzate in occasione della mostra "Bla Bla dialogo virtuale" curata da Alessandro Mendini e allestita negli stessi spazi durante il fuorisalone 2013.

Il programma prevede alcuni momenti di socializzazione legati alla cultura dell'autoproduzione, fra arte e lavoro, legati al mondo dei Makers.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Conceived in 2010 by Anonymous as a film festival dedicated solely to design, A Design Film Festival launched in Singapore and has traveled to Portland, Berlin, Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Bangkok.

The festival is a curated collection of films dedicated to architecture, fashion, photography, street art, motion graphics, technology and the subcultures of design.

Since its inception in 2010, critical acclaim for the festival have been published in Monocle, Wallpaper*, It's Nice That, Wall Street Journal, The Design Society Journal, The Business Times, The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao and more.

To celebrate the closing weeks of Designs of the Year, the Design Museum will be holding a Visitor Vote.
Come along to the exhibition's pop-up polling station and place your sticker on the design that YOU think deserves to win. The winner will be announced on Friday 5 July.

Du 4 au 9 juin 2013, c'est les D'DAYS! Paris et ses alentours se transforme en capitale du design. Tous les acteurs de la filière se mobilisent pour présenter leur création et permettre aux professionnels et novices, les tendances du secteur. Pour la deuxième année consécutive, un parcours Nord Est Parisien, allant de la Rotonde de Nicolas Ledoux au Bassin de la Villette à Pantin, via le canal de l'Ourcq, proposera toute une déambulation à la découverte des étoiles montantes du design. Plus d'une centaine de lieux à visiter et près 200 acteurs à découvrir!

Pour prolonger le plaisir, le Comité départemental vous propose de visiter, d'échanger avec les artisans de la filière dans leur atelier pour comprendre leur métier à la lisière entre les savoir-faire de l'ingénieur, l'artisan, l'artiste, l'industriel... pour améliorer le quotidien dans nos moindres gestes

Sofia Design Week (21 - 30 June) is an international festival for design and visual culture. It takes place every June in Sofia. It features a professional forum with prominent speakers from all over the world, as well as an extensive program of open events aimed at the broader audience - exhibitions, workshops, discussions, talks, screenings, parties, book openings, events for children, etc.

Sofia Design Week strives to serve as a platform which stimulates and supports the development of design professionals in Bulgaria. At the same time the festival aims to present and promote sustainable and sensible practices for better and beneficial visual environment from around the world.

Quick facts:

Sofia Design Week's first edition took place in 2009. It is produced by the platform for cultural events EDNO. Among EDNO's other annual festivals are Sofia Architecture Week, Sofia Dance Week and Sofia Contemporary.

So far the list of speakers at Sofia Design Week includes: Konstantin Grcic, Matali Crasset, Michael Marriott, Mark Chalmers, Erik Kessels, Ji Lee, Marti Guixe, Stefan Sagmeister, Genevieve Gauckler, David Carlson Peter Bilak and Tomek Rygalik, among others.

The next edition of Design District will be 6 – 7 – 8 June 2013, at a beautiful venue, just a stone’s throw from Amsterdam! The 11th edition of the event for interior design in the Netherlands takes place at Taets, Zaandam. The buildings of Taets are on the Hembrug site. This is a former munitions factory, where munitions were made and tested secretly until 2003 . Of the 60 monuments in the area several monumental buildings are restored and used as an event location. A great renovated factory in the area of 6,000 square meters offers a perfect accommodation for Design District 2013!

Design District is a stone’s throw from Amsterdam and easily reached by car. There are over 1,000 parking spaces next to the venue. A visit to the Design District in this exciting new place is absolutely worth it!

100% Design becomes Design District!
After 10 years, 100% Design, known as the trade event for interior design, continues as Design District. The first edition with this new name took place last June in Taets, Zaandam (near Amsterdam). Besides this new name, the concept and organization of the event remains the same!

IN THE MOOD FOR IKEA regroupe 10 jeunes talents issus de la nouvelle génération du design français (Alban le Henry, Antoine Phelouzat, Bina Baitel, Emilie Collin Garros, François Mangeol, Jean Couvreur, Nocc, Océane Delain, Samuel Accoceberry et Victoria Wilmotte) qui ont réinterprété des meubles et du textile IKEA pour cette exposition inédite.

En total accord avec la démarche menée par la marque depuis plusieurs années, l'ensemble des créations réalisées à partir de produits IKEA réunit les trois dimensions du design chères à la marque : la forme, la fonction, et le prix.

The Design Museum announces the contenders for the sixth annual Designs of the Year. They include the best designs from around the world in the last 12 months across seven categories: Architecture, Digital, Fashion, Furniture, Graphics, Product and Transport. Selected by a panel of distinguished nominators, the awards compile the most original and exciting designs, prototypes and designers in the world today – brought together in a Design Museum exhibition from 20 March – 7 July 2013.

Consisting of over 90 nominations, this year’s contest include the celebrated Olympic Cauldron by Heatherwick Studio; Western Europe’s tallest building – The Shard designed by Renzo Piano; the boutique boatshaped hotel room – A Room for London by David Kohn Architects; The Louis Vuitton collection by Yayoi Kusama; and the award-winning Exhibition Road by Dixon Jones, which integrates vehicle and foot traffic with its rejection of boundaries between pavement and road. Microsoft’s Windows phone 8 has claimed the only mobile phone nomination. The Digital category also includes the latest Gov.uk website.
