Production Designer

You are a team player; excel in a creative environment, open to new challenges, able to take projects from
concept through to final production under the direction of the Creative Director and/or Senior Designer team.
This position requires knowledge of brand marketing, design, interactive and print processes.

Experience / Minimum of 5 years experience working in a design agency with an education that specializes
in graphic design. As a multi-disciplinary studio, Jacknife is looking for a solid production designer who
has worked across a diverse range of media [packaging, identity, print, web, video, environmental, etc.].
You know how to work within a provided template, and if needed, can create one from scratch.

Specific Skills / You are proficient in all the latest Adobe software as well as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint,
and you have a good grip on design for both print and web (HTML and CSS).
You have excellent typographic and layout skills, regardless of the medium.
Your exacting attention to detail and great communication skills allows you to be efficient and can deliver
in a fast-paced environment to a high standard.

Preference will be given to candidates that:


Thinking + Style / You are naturally curious and recognize trends. You have a thirst for all kinds of design
and technology, and have a variety of interests that help foster unique and intelligent ideas.
You’re an excellent communicator, unafraid to share original approaches or challenge convention.

The Graphic Designer is responsible for the creation of all offline/online visual design, including typography,
visual concept, logo and icon design for the print and interactive platforms.
They effectively communicate and coordinate with the strategy and design teams to ensure that the visual
design communicates the desired message, and functions successfully.
The candidate must be capable of leading the creative aspects of a project and have demonstrated
strong business acumen.

Intermediate Art Director/Designer

We have an opportunity for a highly creative, energetic, self-motivated, skilled AD/Designer that's a team
player with zero diva tendencies.

Our clients are predominantly shopping centres, so an appreciation and connection with style,
fashion and experience in marketing to women is a must.

You'll be part of a fast-paced team and will have experience developing unique, strategically sound
concepts with flawless execution. You'll need to be proficient with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
and ideally, you also have some interactive design experience.
If you've also got some talent and aptitude for web development on top of the rest of the skills and talents,
you'll be batting 1000.

Agency or design studio experience is a must as you'll need to jump right into our busy shop with both
guns blazing.

WAX IS LOOKING FOR A DIGITAL DESIGNER

You love interactive design solutions, from UX and typography to illustration and photography.
You'll join our award-winning creative teams and work collaboratively to produce compelling, interactive
concepts and high-end digital design solutions. In fact, you love design so much – a fundamental
ingredient in everything WAX does – you live to create flawless user experience.

You have a minimum 5 years experience in the digital media design space, formal design training,
and strong typographical skills. The concept of branding is part of your lexicon, and proficiency in online
marketing and media concepts a given.

We expect an in-depth understanding of advanced Web design techniques, such as HTML5, the present
capabilities of Web browsers, as well as strong skills in Adobe's CS suite.
You can generate your own ideas, but are also a team player and can take direction and run with it.

In addition to being an outstanding designer and all-around clever person, our Digital Designer must have
strong communication skills and have the ability to juggle multiple projects (juggling flaming swords is also
a cool skill if you have it.)

Job Expectations
- You have ideas. That's paramount. Beyond that you have: Experience designing
for digital campaigns and web builds. Ability to develop interactivity/process flow and site maps.

Design interests that extend beyond digital into branding, print etc. Understanding of UX and user behaviors.
Knowledge of the technical possibilities in digital production. Interest for industry trends and technology developments.

Extensive experience working with Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects and other CS6 applications.
A Solid understanding of HTML database-driven technology platforms. A desire to solve client's business
problems and not just make art. A strong attention and a keen, sharp eye.
