American Architectural Coatings business. This acquisition provides our newly combined Trade
organization a tremendous platform for profitable growth.
This acquisition enables us to now operate in 800+ retail stores, sell through over 4,000 dealer stores
and supply product to large home improvement retailers, such as Lowe's and Home Depot.
This acquisition also brings a portfolio of well established brands to PPG such as Glidden, Glidden
Professional, Ralph Lauren Paint, Devoe Coatings and Martha Stewart Living paints; Flood, Sikkens
and Synteko woodcare products; plus Liquid Nails adhesives and caulks.
PPG Industries has an immediate opening for a Graphic Designer at our Longueuil, Quebec office.
The primary role of the Graphic Designer is to provide creative design, production and electronic
multimedia communications for the collateral materials, advertising, product labels, various special
events and special projects. This position will support the entire Canadian-based Marketing
Department across all brands for Retail/Dealer and company-owned stores.
Key Responsibilities
Handle creative design and production on a variety of marketing projects including the sales tools,
point-of-sale materials, brochures, circulars, customer ads, in-store materials like header boards,
special advertisements, posters, invitations, rebate coupons, and others.
Handle design, art and production for a variety of special projects.
Design and produce slides, viewgraphs, PowerPoint presentations, nametags, signs and other graphic materials as assigned.
Negotiate supplier contracts for production services.
Hire and supervise prepress and production services as needed.
Assume responsibility for color reproduction and overall appearance of projects.
Evaluate and maintains familiarity with a full range of outside suppliers including printers, prepress vendors,
free-lance designers, photographers, and others in order to provide professional, productive and cost-efficient
outside services to PAF.
Coordinate and maintain the REMay Internet Asset Manager databases of photography and art work.
Qualifications
Must be fluent in French and English and be able to translate in both written and verbal communication.
Degree in Graphic Design.
5-7 years work experience in a corporate communications department, deign studio, advertising agency
or multimedia firm.
Expertise in the field of graphic design, electronic multimedia communications, prepress and full graphics print production.
Expertise in layout, typesetting, electronic photo-retouching and traditional art methods and building mock-ups.
Proficiency in Adobe CS 5 or newer, and Microsoft Office.
Versatile and highly detail-oriented.
Outstanding human relations skills for regular dealings with outside designers, suppliers, photographers, printers, reproduction center personnel; marketing department managers and other customers within the company.
Ability to adjust design concepts quickly to meet last minute changes and short deadlines.
