Weng Nam is a graphic designer with multicultural and lingual background from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  The initial step is what is the product, than what will be the logo and the message and to whom its targeted [audience], color of the site, and how many pages and what each page is all about. Apart from the design of graphics like the icons, images and other things like how much of animation [ flash banner / intro ], After analyzing all this front hand design of the site, the most important thing is to add the meat [ content ] for the site, which is the principle step, for the site to reach out to his / her audience.

 After getting all these parameters in a flow chart form, the last important step is to promote the site to generate audience, revenue, popularity for the site / product.

My Poor Brain is London based graphic designer and illustrator Tim Smith.

Smith’s clients include PlayStation, Orange, Nokia and Tate. His work has been recognised by the likes of Webby, FWA, Design Week Awards and even BAFTA amongst others. Tim is currently senior designer at AllofUs.

Smith’s portfolio has had a major revamp in the form of a brand new responsive website “platform”, that works harder than your average portfolio site, and has a bespoke streamlined smartphone version.

Parallel to this, the My Poor Brain brand has been updated and portfolio simply divided into binary sections; graphic design and illustration.

The design focuses not only on the aesthetic of the site but more the user experience as Smith explains; “The look and feel is important but I wanted ease of use to take precedence - I wanted visitors to really enjoy exploring. Working closely with a UX expert and a HTML5 / CSS3 developer ensured that this goal was met”.

Smith explains what sets his site apart from the norm: “I wanted to create a kind of My Poor Brain platform, tying in all my various online camps, from Twitter to LinkedIn to Behance - inviting visitors to engage and share on each of the project pages”.

The site also features a global ‘networks tray’ for quick access to Smith’s various online creative and professional spaces. More integration will be implemented soon, including a Twitter feed, newsletter and Vimeo videos.

Although I am a graphic designer I tend to think of graphic design as an interactive space where different ideas and disciplines can merge and evolve in a constructive dialogue. I strongly believe that - as Barbara Stauffacher Solomon once said - "everything influences everything". That is why I love discussing and sharing ideas whilst my favorite hobby is to wander through unknown places and capture moments.

My design practice is centered around Environmental Graphics, which means that I'm deeply interested in how the interplay between typography, colour, materials and structure could create a visual language and communicate effectively in an environment.
